American Sign Language for Deaf & Hard of Hearing Adult Learners (ASL for DHH)

American Sign Language (ASL) for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Adult Learners program helps you improve and develop better bilingual skills in ASL and English, increase your knowledge of Deaf and Non-deaf Culture, and learn about local Deaf and Hard of Hearing services.


   

The ASL for DHH Adult Learners program offers two courses:

• ASL for Literacy Purposes

For those interested in improving reading, writing and math skills using ASL and English instruction:

a. Communication skills in ASL and English
b. Development of pre-employment readiness skills
ASL for Academic Purposes
For learners enrolled in high school upgrading, advanced ESL, and career programs. Courses are taught by Deaf instructors with strong bilingual and bi-cultural skills and experience. Courses can be taken part-time or as one course in full-time studies.

Funding available for eligible students
