Apprenticeship Exam Preparation

Our evening apprenticeship courses offer self-paced, independent learning classes to prepare you for your trade. You can also take them during your technical training to maintain or improve your math and reading skills.

Apprenticeship Reading
This technical reading course will give you the reading skills you need to successfully pass the Apprenticeship entrance exam and complete your trade training at SAIT or NAIT. You will learn to read, understand, and study trade textbooks. Vocabulary development, reading techniques, graph-, table-, and chart-reading skills, and study skills are presented in independent study classes.

Start dates: Ongoing registration
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Wed-Fri.
Location: North (Main) Campus

Note: The Apprenticeship Reading program must be completed within five months of your registration date.

Apprenticeship Math And Science
The Apprenticeship Math and Science course prepares you to pass the Non-Electrical Apprenticeship and Industry Training entrance exam, a first step in entering a trade. The modules cover fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio and proportion, geometry and science.

Start dates: Ongoing registration
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Mon. & Wed.
Location: Room N525, North (Main) Campus

Notes: If you are in the electrical trades, see High School Credit Courses – Math – for dates and evening times. This program must be completed within five months of your registration date.
