Admission requirements
Academic Requirements
• Graduate of a recognized Practical Nurse Program
• Referral from the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
• Credit in a Medical Terminology course
Pre-Program Requirements
The criteria listed below must be completed prior to the first day of classes:
• Current valid immunization report required and must be approved by BVC Health Services
• Current Police Information Check (PIC)
• Current CPR Health Care Provider Level Certificate
Note: Students who have not submitted their documents by the start of the program will have their Letter of Admission withdrawn.
Additional Admission Requirements
It is strongly advised that applicants have computer access with word processing and Internet capabilities.
Note: Every effort is made to accommodate students in clinical placements within the time frame of the program. In some cases, students may be required to complete their clinical placements during evening and weekend hours or by travelling to alternative locations. In rare instances, the College may need to delay the date of completion until a clinical placement can be arranged.
