Bow Valley College’s Accounting and Financial Management Certificate is now available online. These courses offer the flexibility to study at home. As you work through a course, your instructor will be available to answer any questions, explain concepts, and provide support and feedback through email, fax, or phone. This is a part-time certificate and will take a minimum of two years to complete. There are a total of 13 required courses.

Admission requirements
Academic Requirements
• Minimum final mark of 60% in English 20-1 or credit in English 30-2 or equivalentOR:
• Credit in Applied or Pure Math 30 or equivalent
• Successful completion of the General Equivalency Development test (GED) with a standard score of 520 in Language Arts: Reading and Writing and 520 in MathOR:
• Satisfactory results on the BVC Admissions Test
Additional Admission Requirements
• All applicants must be bondable.
• Applicants should also be aware that many employers require completion of a high school diploma for consideration for employment.
English Language Proficiency Requirement
Applicants whose first language is NOT English must demonstrate ONE of the following:
• Achievement of a valid TOEFL score of 527 - 530 on the paper-based test or a score of 71 on the internet-based test (iBT)
• Achievement of a valid Academic IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with an overall band score of 5.5
• Complete the Bow Valley College EAP program with a grade of “B”
• Transcripts demonstrating successful completion of three years of full-time secondary education at a school where English was the language of instruction
• Transcripts demonstrating successful completion of one year of full-time post-secondary education at a school where English was the language of instruction
• Where applicable, a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) standard as determined by the Career program
• Successful completion of an Alberta Education English Language Arts (ELA) course that is consistent with the specified academic admission requirements for the program
• Satisfactory results on the BVC Admissions test
Transferability
Graduates of this program may be accepted into:
• Bow Valley College – Business Administration Diploma and receive transfer creditsStudents may be eligible for a Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) for the following courses the BVC Office Administration Program:
